Feststellungsprüfung (FSP)

The Feststellungsprüfung – your key to university.

Once you pass the FSP you can apply to all German universities and colleges in your field. We prepare you for it in a targeted way.

Exam structure

How is the FSP structured?

The FSP consists of a written and an oral part.

Written part

Three written exams (3 hours each, German 4 hours) in the subject-specific core subjects of your course.

Oral part

One oral subject with approx. 30 minutes of preparation time and about 20 minutes of examination.

Passing

Passed when sufficient results are achieved in all subjects – the result is valid nationwide.

Language requirement

Level B2 is required

To take part in a specialised course and the Feststellungsprüfung you need German skills at level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference.

Recognised certificates include, among others:

telc Deutsch B2 Goethe Certificate B2 TestDaF DSH-1 DSD-1

With a telc C1 Hochschule certificate you can also be exempted from the German subject of the Feststellungsprüfung.

M-Kurs

Core subjects: German, biology, chemistry (written) – chemistry (oral). For medicine & natural sciences.

T-Kurs

Core subjects: mathematics, physics, chemistry and German. For technical and engineering degree programmes.

W-Kurs

Core subjects: German, mathematics, economics (written) – English (oral). For economics.
